Before a project goes in construction, we perform thorough surveys during preconstruction phase and provides crucial comments which assist their designers/contractors to correct to avoid major change orders during construction phase. Construction Management Phases:
Pre-construction:
VGCOM brings past CM experience, best practices, expertise to your project. While in preconstruction phase, licensed professional engineers at VGCOM focuses on due diligence reviews of entire A/E construction drawings and specifications, constructability reviews, cost estimating, scheduling, and procurement which brings valuable insight into the earliest stage of project planning. Pre-construction phase is very important because it gives us and our clients reasonable time to eliminate potential errors which could pose a major issue during construction and cost millions of dollars as a change order and schedule.
Construction Phase:
VGCOM provides full support for our clients from feasibility studies to developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets to construction contracts and change order administration. As soon as we are brought to a construction project, we start communicating with the client and review all available documents. Once a contractor is hired and receives PO/notice-to-proceed, VGCOM conducts a kick-off meeting with all stake holders and talk about the project and roles of each party. Moving forward, VGCOM asks the GC to provide all crucial submittals and get permit from all City agencies and AHJs as applicable so that the actual construction work could be started as soon as possible.
During the construction, we review all submittals, maintain logs, conduct weekly/bi-weekly meetings, review RFIs, negotiate change orders, and maintain all paper work per the clients need from start to finish. In addition, we also manage environmental, special inspection, and commissioning firms as required for a project. Finaly, we make sure that the work environment is safe and ALL SAFETY MEASURES are being taken to avoid any unwanted injuries throughout the course of a project.
